Matthew 5:1-12
1. And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him.
2. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
3. Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
PRAYER POINT: Oh Father, in Jesus Name please show me where I am self-reliant and have not recognized how bankrupt I am without you in every area of my life.
4. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
PRAYER POINT: Oh Father, in Jesus Name please show me my sin that hinders me from abiding in the Lord Jesus Christ so that I may mourn over it and repent and be cleansed.
(See Isaiah 6:1-9).
5 . Blessed are the meek ,For they shall inherit the earth.
PRAYER POINT: Oh Father in Jesus' Name please help me to not walk in pride, and then to take Your lowly humble example so that I may possess your power under the control of Your Spirit.
6. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness , For they shall be filled.
PRAYER POINT: Oh Father, in Jesus' Name please help me to identify the things in my life that spoil my appetite for the things of God, so that I hunger and thirst for righteousness. Please fill me with Your Spirit!
7. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.
PRAYER POINT: Oh Father, in Jesus' Name please forgive me for not being more merciful and then show me Your ways in terms of being merciful to everybody. Thank You for not giving me what I deserve Father!
8. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
PRAYER POINT: Oh Father, in Jesus 'Name like David asked?I am asking You to restore in me a pure heart and renew a right spirit within me! Then show me Your glory Lord!
9. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.
PRAYER POINT: Oh Father, in Jesus' Name raise me up as one who is a laborer in Your harvest field that I may be used to reconcile the lost so they will have peace with God. Thank You that I am a child of God!
10. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
PRAYER POINT: Oh Father, in Jesus' Name may I be positioned in my heart to say: "He is my defense I will not be moved".
11. "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad,for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. PRAYER POINT: Oh Father, in Jesus' Name Thank You that FBCP will be in good company when we are blessed for whatever price You want us to pay to serve Jesus!
