2010 Panama Missionary Bryan Roller
My name is Bryan Roller and in 2009 I participated in my first mission trip to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the Kuna Indians in the San Blas Islands of Panama. Despite my trepidations of sharing the gospel in foreign countries, I am drawn to sharing my testimony and Jesus' message of salvation. I have once again been called to Panama to serve my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to sharing the gospel this year, we are praying that the Lord makes provision so that we may build a much needed church on the island of (to follow). As you can imagine, allocating the time and raising the money are two of the largest challenges we face.
I as an individual have committed to conquering the time challenge and we as a team could use your help in the area of monetary support if you are led to do so. Each individual team member must raise his/her own expenses - so $10, $15, or $20 a month can go a long way - any additional funds raised by the team will be used for construction materials for the new church.
More than anything, as your biggest contribution, please add me, our team and the Kuna people to your daily prayers.
Why I choose to serve?
Since I was very young the Lord has put Godly people in my path starting with my grandparents and culminating with the pastors and fellowship groups I treasure, today. But for most of my life I did not heed the call to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. In fact, you could say I ran. Living a life, where I considered I was in control of my destiny and that all the glory was mine when I succeeded - of course, it was someone else's fault when I failed.
But the greatest news is that he never gave up on me. In December 2007, I made a private profession of faith to Jesus our Lord and Savior to actually turn my life over to him and his guidance unlike years before where I said the words but still lived and chased the life that I wanted. In May of 2007, at the R.M.O. Outdoor Skills Challenge after one of the camp fires during our period of reflection I was directed by the Holy Spirit that FBC-Pearland was to be my home. After making a public profession the next Sunday, I was baptized in the ocean at Port Bolivar on June 29, 2008. And I want to share that with others. I am amazed - though I shouldn't be - how much our Father loves me despite the things that I had done in my past and the struggles that I deal with today.
Praise Jesus our Great Savior!
